First of all, I should to say my trip to St. Petersburg was a business trip to solve some personal problems. I succeeded and did all, what I was going to do.
Unfortunately I couldn’t avoid some discussions about politics and was so tired to argue. Because there is no truth in my opinion. The sad thing about it – many people forget it – people are dying and suffering. Also, I have relatives all over the world including in Ukraine.
Anyway, I thought, I’m pregnant, tired from flight and want to find my world, at least a piece of my world, that I love so much about St. Petersburg.
I was living, studying and working in St. Petersburg for many years… And today I would like to tell and to show you a small piece of my world in St. Petersburg.
Nevsky Prospect is a central street of St. Petersburg. It's also touristic, gastronomical and commercial part of the city. Usually, I start here my journey through St. Petersburg.
Anichkov Bridge across the Fontanka River
Oh, I really love this bridge because of the sculptures. There are 4 different sculptures of horses with riders. There is something indomitable, majestic and powerful about these sculptures...
A wonderful bookstore in the middle of Nevsky Prospect, a small jewel among commercial bookshops with thousands of nameless books. If you are looking for something special, want to see some photography exhibition or to listen classical music live - this is exactly the right place for you too!
Also a little kitsch belongs to St. Petersburg. But it's really nice and expensive! kitsch in Elisseeff Emporium (founded in 1903). All kinds of luxurious food from France, Italy, Europe or Russia you can find there. Enjoy it!
The Passage is a shopping mall on Nevsky Prospect. I don't know there anything about shops, but I do like peace and the benches of the Passage. No better place to relax after exhausting hours through Nevsky Prospect or to talk in peace and quiet with your friends.
Café Sever on Nevsky Prospect
Don't forget to visit the Café Sever on Nevsky Prospect. Good food and desserts for every pocket!
Of course there are much more corners and pieces of St. Petersburg I like. For example, I didn't manage this time to visit the State Russian Museum or the Mariinsky Theatre... Well, maybe next time...
